There are two types of people in this world: Those in the Hedge Fund industry, and those who are affected by the Hedge Fund industry.
Top Hedge Fund Investors: Stories, Strategies, and Advice unlocks many previously unknown secrets and perspectives about Hedge Funds and the perspectives used by the people who have fueled this segment’s rise.
Cathleen Rittereiser and Lawrence Kochard present a clear, easy-to-understand (yet sophisticated) look at what’s driven the most successful Hedge Fund strategists.
This book is timely. Its examination, for example, of strategies for risk management in Hedge Funds is a clear, concise look at a best-in-breed approach. The authors also do a great job of examining short-selling strategies – clearing up some popular misconceptions and bringing the definition of the practice up to date. This book is a must-read for anyone seeking a better understanding of what drives successful Hedge Funds.

As someone beginning a career in the hedge fund industry, I think it’s important to find mentors and learn as much as you can from them. “Top Hedge Fund Investors” accelerated the process for me, because it lets 9 leading investors in hedge funds tell their stories. It was like getting an immersion course in hedge fund investing. I highly recommend this book to anyone that wants to be a better hedge fund investor or marketer, but it’s especially insightful for those just starting out.

This book is an excellent introduction to hedge fund investing, from the perspective of a select group of the top practitioners in the industry. As they did with their earlier book, Foundation and Endowment Investing, Rittereiser and Kochard have offered clear, concise, well written and useful insight for professional investors, policy makers, and students of investing. I’m happy to recommend this book.

This review is from: The Mutual Fund Kit: Identifying Your Objectives, Building Your Profitable Portfolio, Selecting the Best Funds and Measuring Your Fund’s Performance (Paperback)
This kit would be very helpful for the novice mutual fund
investor seeking plain advice. The standard fund objectives
for a plethora of investors are:
– Safety
– Large/Small cap funds depending upon fund size in dollars
– Money Market Funds
– Tax Benefits
A typical performance measurement statistic is the Russell 3000
index of funds performing over the averages. This book will assist you in crafting a short and long term portfolio of
moderate to advanced complexity.
